MS&AD’s corporate venture fund, MS&AD Ventures, has increased by US $100 million, bringing the fund’s total amount under management to US $400 million.
MS&AD Ventures, the first Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) of a Japanese insurance company, has been steadily growing its portfolio since its establishment in 2018.
The firm focuses on early-stage investments across diverse sectors, aiming to strengthen the Group’s insurance business profitability, drive business transformation through new market entry, and foster innovative collaborations with startups.
“Considering MS&AD Ventures’ portfolio companies are growing well and MS&AD
Ventures has tons of good opportunities to invest in by expanding our business operation, MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings, Inc has decided to increase the fund amount,” a spokesperson stated.
This expansion will enable the CVC to further capitalize on its strong performance and pursue new avenues for growth and innovation within the insurance industry.
The firm added: “Through global investment, we are steadily increasing the number of successful cases that lead to cross-group initiatives and results, such as new product development and the creation of new businesses in collaboration with our portfolio startup companies.
“We will accelerate business creation activities in various fields by utilizing the knowledge we have accumulated through our investment activities regarding innovative businesses.”
